Our Beliefs

Knowing what we believe is important.

GOD IS THE ONE TRUE GOD.

  • Isaiah 44:6 , “Thus saith the Lord, the King of Israel, and his redeemer, the Lord of hosts, I am the first, I am the last, and beside me there is no God.”
  • Jude 1:25, “To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.”
  • James 2:19, “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.”
  • Isaiah 42:8, “I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.”

JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD.

  • Matthew 3:17, “And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Mark 1:11, Luke 3:22)
  • Luke 9:35, “And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.” ( Matt. 17:5, Mark 9:7)
  • John 3:16-18, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
  • Acts 8:37, “And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

TRINITY – WE BELIEVE ONE GOD IS ETERNALLY THREE PERSONS; GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON, AND GOD THE HOLY GHOST.

God the Father

  • Ephesians 4:6, “One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
  • Matthew 23:9, “And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.”

God the Son

  • Matthew 14:33, “Then they that were in the ship came and worshiped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.”
  • John 20:31, “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”

God the Holy Ghost

  • John 14:26, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
  • Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

WE ARE CALLED TO BE A DISCIPLE AND TO MAKE DISCIPLES.

Being a disciple

  • John 15:18-19, “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.”
  • 2 Timothy 2:2-3, “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”

Making disciples

  • Matthew 28:19-20, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway*, even unto the end of the world.”

WE BELIEVE IN THREE BAPTISMS.

Baptism into salvation (adoption)

  • 2 Corinthians 12:12-13, “For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.”
  • Galatians 3:27-28, “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.”

Water Baptism

  • 1 Peter 3:20-21, “Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:”
  • Matthew 3:13-15, “Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness.”

Baptism of the Holy Ghost (empowerment)

  • Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
  • Acts 4:31, “And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.”
  • Matthew 3:11, “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:”

THE GIFTS ARE STILL IN OPERATION.

  • Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
  • John 14:12, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”
  • 1 Corinthians 12:1, “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.”

WE BELIEVE THAT JESUS CHRIST WAS BORN OF A VIRGIN, THAT HE DIED UPON THE CROSS, RESURRECTED ON THE THIRD DAY, AND ASCENDED BACK INTO HEAVEN.

Jesus Christ Born of a Virgin

  • Isaiah 7:14, “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” (Matthew 1:23)
  • Galatians 4:4, “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law.”

Jesus Died on the Cross

  • John 19:17, “And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:”
  • John 19:25, “Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.”
  • Mark 15:37, “And Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and breathed His last.”

Jesus Resurrected

  • Mark 16:6-7, “And he saith unto them, be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid Him. But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.”
  • 1 Peter 1:3, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”

Jesus Ascended

  • Acts 1:9-10, “And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold two men stood by them in white apparel.”

JESUS CHRIST IS RETURNING TO RAPTURE HIS BRIDE.

  • 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.”
  • 1 Corinthians 15:51-52, “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”
  • Matthew 24:27, “For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
  • Matthew 24:42-44, “Watch therefore: for ye know now what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh

WE BELIEVE IN HOLY, SANCTIFIED, SET APART LIVING.

  • 1 John 2:6, “He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.”
  • 1 John 2:15, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
  • Proverbs 20:1, “Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise.”
  • 1 Peter 1:15-16, “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
  • 1 Peter 2:9, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

  • 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
  • Titus 2:7, “In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity.”

WE BELIEVE MARRIAGE IS FOR ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN.

  • Genesis 2:24, “Therefore a man shall leave father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”
  • Mark 10:6-8, “But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh; so then they are no longer two but one flesh.”
